Tower and cellar tour

The deepest and oldest, as well as the highest freely accessible parts of the castle will be visited on this tour. You can only view the cellar vaults and the castle tower on this tour. An interactive model of the town and the county of Wernigerode illustrates its history in the old vaults. On the way to the highest point of the castle, visitors will see a small section of the attic where the Little Ghost is hiding. After a climb of many stairs, they will be rewarded by a unique view of the Harz, the Brocken and the foothills if the weather is right. On other days, rough weather will impress guests with icy gusts as they emerge onto the tower plateau.

This tour can only be booked in combination with normal castle admission or other tours. Therefore, this offer is subject to a surcharge of 2.00 € per person.

A choice of foods can be offered in the castle as well at coordinated times and dates. During the day, booking our SchloßCafé during its opening hours (contact phone: +49 3943 - 55 30 44) is a practical solution. A buffet can be offered after it closes. If you inform us in time, we will gladly help you book a (large) taxi for returning from the Castle in the evening

Example of a customised tour

You can put together various customised tours from the above items. Please note that some items cannot be booked directly via the castle (e.g. food, organ concert, taxi, etc.). We will gladly forward you to our partners, however.

You group will be met by the guide with a first little introduction on the castle and garden-dreams punch in the inner yard. Then you will listen to the graceful sounds of the Walcker organ in the castle church. For the next 45 minutes, you will be individually guided through the impressive castle rooms to learn more about the former inhabitants and the processes in a household of the higher nobility. Since you will be hungry, you can look forward to a rich buffet in the fireplace room thereafter and end your evening there sociably.
